Kubota: In last year's elections Hosaka lost to Matsumoto, and so he failed to get hold of vice-president Tachibana. He pushed one of the council members to steal the money, intending to use that to bring down Matsumoto.
Kubota: He intended to take Matsumoto's place and get Tachibana too
Hosaka: (hysteric laughter) Yes, you're right!
