Down to earth, filled with gags and the details of everyday life, yet delicate and frequently subtle, Kame's stories are a treasure trove for anyone who likes exploring the characters of Kurama and Hiei. The portraits drawn are warmly humorous and accessible. The conflict is between human and demon nature, and the triumphs are understated, often a matter of a single word or a look.

So...who writes these sensitive, character-driven stories? The answer may be a surprise, because Kame is a guy. A guy who is a true Yu*Yu*Hakusho fan, genuinely devoted to Hiei, and frequently self-deprecating about his art. (At one point he decided to quit drawing because he was so unhappy with it.) Of course, we beg to disagree about that last. We love his clean and simple style and we're delighted to feature his stories here and his pictures in the Gallery.

This series is based on a simple idea: one of Hiei's ancestors was a cannibal, and he's inherited a need for human flesh that kills him if he resists. One night he shows up at Kurama's window half-dead, begging for a plant to knock him unconscious and stop the craving. Instead, Kurama offers his own blood, rich in human vitality. Then, since Hiei's ki is so low that he's vulnerable to attack, he uses a kekkai (force field) to lock Hiei in his bedroom.

So, for an unknown period of time, a fuming Hiei is stuck with Kurama. Along the way he has to deal with his own guilt, fear, and mistrust, as well as Kurama's penchant for this thing called kissing.

With Me, Part 1 by KAME
	Kurama X Hiei. Funny, angsty, just plain good. 31 pages Hiei shows up at Kurama's window, exhausted, drained of power, and overcome with the need for human blood. The first episode in the warm and touching 'With Me' series. Recommended. Translated by K-san.

With Me, Part 2 by KAME
	Kurama X Hiei. Sweet, little scary, hint of spice. 18 pages Hiei is still locked safely in Kurama's room, but he's in danger anyway. He's contracted a disease that only a plant controller can cure...and then only if Hiei will agree to let him. The long awaited missing episode (missing because we didn't have the dj ^_^) and it was worth waiting for. Translated by W-san.

	Kurama X Hiei. Poignant and sweet. Tiny hint of spice. 20 pages Kurama's mother is getting remarried...so he should be happy, right? But he's having trouble with this first step in letting her go. "Couldn't you comfort me a little?" he asks, and Hiei does--in Hiei's own peculiar fashion. Translated by M.J. Johnson.

	Kurama X Hiei. Sweet, funny, tiny bit spicy. 13 pages A 'With Me' side story. Hiei turns up injured again, but this time he's in a bit of an odd mood. One of Kame's nicest character pieces. 'Icha icha' means 'love love'; touching and carrying on. Translated by K-chan.

	Kurama X Hiei. Playful. 11 pages One of Kame's earlier stories. Koenma sends the spiritual detectives on a well-earned vacation to an onsen, but Kurama has his own agenda for the trip. Translated by W-san.

	Kurama X Hiei. Funny. 5 pages Misc. gentle shorts from Kame's first dj 'Boy's Heart.' This includes a brief editorial on Hiei, who Kame likes to tease as much as anyone. Translated by W-san.
